Root Canals
In every tooth there is a small amount of connective tissue where the nerve and blood supply of the tooth resides. Sometimes this tissue becomes infected or dies, often causing considerable discomfort. Once this has occurred there are only two solutions: remove the tooth or remove the tissue (root canal).
Wherever possible we will recommend a root canal so that we may save your tooth. This highly successful procedure can often be completed in one visit. Subsequent visits are needed to restore this tooth to its full strength usually with a crown type restoration.
Saving the tooth preserves the bone, keeps your teeth from shifting, helps with chewing and saves your smile. |
